Serves 2 Cooking and prep time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
200 g plain flour
1/4 tsp salt
7 g easy mix dried yeast
1 tsp sugar
125 ml warm water
85 ml passata
50 g grated mozzarella & 50g chopped mozzarella
2 tbp grated parmesan or vegetarian alternative
Small bunch of basil, chopped
Salt and pepper to season
A few whole basil leaves to garnish
Method
- Preheat the oven to gas 9 / 240C / 220C Fan.
- Oil a 24cm baking tray.
- In a large bowl sieve and mix the flour, yeast, 1/4 tsp salt and sugar in a bowl.
- Slowly stir in the warm water to make a dough.
- Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth.
- Then place on the baking tray.
- Press the dough flat to take the shape of the tray.
- Spread passata over the middle of the dough, leaving a 1cm gap around the edge.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- top with chopped basil and mozarella, and then the parmesan.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until cooked through.
- Garnish with a few whole basil leaves.
Top Tips:
Some of the large supermarkets carry parmesan vegetarian alternatives.
Add other topping too to this basic pizza to change the variety.
