Baguette pizzas for all

Serves 2 – 4  Cooking and prep time:  30 minutes

Ingredients

2 part baked baguettes

Margarine

1 tbp Tomato passata

100g grated cheese

basil, oregano

black pepper

Topping of choice:

Tuna, sweetcorn, diced peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, anchovies, olives etc.

 

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to gas 5/ 190C / 170C fan
  2. Halve the baguettes lengthways or into 1.5cm circular slices.
  3. Place on a baking tray and cook for 8 minutes on the middle shelf.
  4. Then prepare your toppings. Grate the cheese, dice the peppers etc. depending on what you are having.
  5. Take the baguettes out of the oven and spread margarine over each of the pieces then spread tomato passata over each of the pieces too, add your favourite topping to each then sprinkle on the grated cheese, oregano and lack pepper.
  6. Bake for a further 12 minutes until cheese has melted and is golden brown.
  7. Top with fresh basil leaves.
  8. Serve hot with salad.

Top Tip:

Length ways is great for adult pizzas, but for kids you may prefer to cut these into half again make them into quarters, or simply use the small slices.

The small sliced baguette pizzas are also great side orders for soups too.
