Ingredients
10 slices of stale (going hard) bread
1/4 cup melted butter
2tsp garlic salt (optional)
Method
- Preheat the oven to 175C /160C fan/ 35oF
- Remove crusts from stale (going hard) bread slices.
- Brush both sides of the bread with melted butter.
- Cut the slices up into cubes.
- Spread them out on a baking tray.
- Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool and store in an airtight container.
Power up your salads and soups with some croutons.
Top Tips
Don’t throw away the bread slices when they start to go hard – make croutons!
Use garlic butter or garlic salt
Use thick sliced bread for chunkier croutons.
