Developing Creativity
Children are naturally creative. They have rich imaginations and can turn a cardboard box into a spaceship, pretend to be a superhero, make up songs, make up words, even their scribbles are masterpieces in their eyes.
Their artistic skills hold no bounds, but to really help them explore their artistic side and develop their imagination here are some ideas to try:
- Give them large cardboard boxes to play in
- Provide dressing up clothes
- Craft accessories
- Make up songs using rhyming – Dr Seuss books are a good place to start
- Use Playdough
- Provide them with recycled cartons, boxes, cellotape and glue
- use natural materials like leaves, twigs and pebbles to create pictures and models too
