Although cats tend to keep themselves clean, every now and then they need a little helping hand, especially if they happen to end up covered in mud or soot etc.
Use specially formulated shampoo for pets as ordinary shampoos can caontain chemeicals which are dangerous for them especially as they like to lick themselves clean and therefore have a greater chance of ingesting the chemicals.
Give your cat regular baths as a kitten, so that if does not come as a shock to them, when you give them a bath when they are older.
