Month 5

By 5 months old, babies start to develop rapidly in front of their parents eyes. They mature and amaze parents daily. Most parents are able to sleep through the night now, and those that don’t only wake for a little while. Their play changes to discovery as they are now more mobile with many able to crawl. They can therefore:

• Use hands and other toys as tools to get what they want
• Begin teething
• See you and other objects from across the room
• Pay close attention to small objects and toys
• Discover the cause and effect of their actions, such as dropping things for parents to pick up
• Also try and hold themselves up into a sitting position. They are also able to hold their heads up well now too at all times.
• They start to babble now in other to communicate.
