By nine months old most babies start to understand that they are individuals. They enjoy looking in the mirror. Have their own routine. They will now attempt to talk and even walk. Babies can now play with toys independently for short periods of time. They can also:
• Go from laying down to sitting independently
• Recognize self
• Reach for toys that are close by
• Grasp small items with finger and thumb
• Suffer anxiety when away from parent so give them a cuddly toy or something familiar to comfort them when you are away.
• Pick up things and give them to you.
• Attempt to walk at this stage
