Making your premises safe will be an essential part of your Ofsted inspection. However, how you make your premises safe will greatly depend on the age of the children you choose to care for. If you care for crawling babies, the safety equipment they require will differ greatly to children over the age of three, so don’t go overboard and buy things you don’t need if it is not necessary.
For example, stair gates and reigns for walking outside, will not be needed for over 4 year olds, so be very specific about what you need and why.
