Cancerians are born mothers. Taking care of children comes instinctively to them, as this is what they were born to do.
Being highly emotional, they understand children’s vulnerabilities completely. They are the shoulder to cry on, the human comfort blanket or the waiting hug when it is required.
However, there is a fine line between mothering and smothering. Cancerians can be over-protective and do too much for children, resulting in children doing too little themselves. Cancerians need to relax and not be such a martyr. They need to trust that their children will be okay without them, in order to develop skills and gain independence.
Children love being in their warm company, but sometimes Cancerians need to take a leaf out of an Arian’s book and learn to say ‘no’ and set boundaries.
Children learn by example and as Cancerians emotions come in all the colours of the rainbow and in all intensities, it is possible that the children in Cancer’s care will become highly emotional too.
Childcare is also hard work, so Cancerians will need a strong supportive team around them to help them stay grounded and to stop themselves becoming overwhelmed with the constant worrying.
