Zoos and farms are great places to visit, so that children can see animals up close and personal. Be they in a zoo, farm or even a park, be sure to make a day of it and take lots of pictures.

While there is a campaign for animals not to be kept in zoos, most zoo animals have been bred in a zoo and are kept as part of conservation programs to stop them becoming extinct. As well as learning about the animals themselves, children can also learn about why they are endangered. They can also adopt an animal and get involved in looking after them too.

Zoos and farms also have special events which children can get involved in too, such as feeding the animals or watching shows and finding out more about the animals, so they are great educational places to take the kids too.
